At Johnson, During & Woods, we supply a wide range of elaborate or simple coffins and caskets suitable for both burial and cremation, including sustainably sourced coffins for environmentally friendly funerals.

Make it special

You may find that you’ll take comfort from placing personal items in the coffin with the person who has passed away, such as photographs or letters. We will place no restrictions on what you place in the coffin while it is in our care, but please be aware that there may be some restrictions from the crematoria, such as metal or glass objects.

Carrying the coffin

We will always supply bearers to carry coffins and caskets, however it may be your wish for family members and friends to carry the coffin instead.

Clothing

It is normally acceptable for the person who has died to be dressed in their own clothing. However, in some circumstances, such as cremation, we are bound to comply with regulations which restrict certain materials. If it is your wish to provide the clothing for the deceased, speak to us about this and we can advise accordingly. Alternatively we can supply a wide range of dressing and suiting robes that will be acceptable to the relevant authorities.
